My Kenmore top-load washer stops as it gets to the drain cycle. It looks like a wire on the motor wire harness is shorting out (see attached picture). I pulled the offending wire out of the harness and removed the connector.

Does anyone know where I can get another connector?

My issue is very similar to this poster's (except mine is a Kenmore, not a Whirlpool)

Please let me know what you need from me. Thanks!

Your washer is made by Whirlpool. Here's the terminals you need.

Whirlpool 352088 Terminal, Female (disconnect Black) - AppliancePartsPros.com

There is a tab in each pin housing, use a jewelers screwdriver to push the tab out of the way while pushing on the terminals to get them out.

Thanks for the quick response.

I just want to check before I order the part - the website says the part is incompatible with my washer. You're sure this is the correct part?

This is not a standard repair part. It should work. If it turns out to be different and won't work for your connector, you can return it. The only other option is to order a complete wiring harness which is $105. You may also need to splice a new piece of wire into your harness. You will need to strip the faulty wire back until you find good clean wire strands. If the wire ends up being too short after you find good wire strands, then you can just splice a new length of 18 gauge wire in using a butt connector.

Ok! Thanks for helping with this. I'll give it a shot and report back.

I made the repair and it the washer seems to be working.

The part you recommended worked, but I had to make some pretty heavy modifications for it to fit. I had to clip most of the bottom off the piece for it to work. This is not a slight - this was the right recommendation and I couldn't have made the repair without your advice.

Thanks again!

Is this the part you had to trim off?
