Maytag Model MAVT236AWW top loading washing machine.
The machine was dripping into the tub once all the cycles were complete. I replaced the water inlet valve which was an easy fix. But now it is dripping worse than it was before. I have to shut the water off to the washing machine and it still leaks just a little, obviously because the water shut off valve is not working correctly. I am going to correct that problem, but I still cannot figure out why it is dripping into the tub. I am able to run the spin cycle and drain the tub quickly.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

What you did should have fixed things, so this is a mystery. What happens when you unplug the machine but leave the water on and running? Does water still drip into the machine? Is it both hot and cold?

It still drips when it is unplugged. Yes it drips into the machine/tub. It is only cold water.
Thanks for your reply.

Okay, two possibilities
1. The replacement valve assembly was bad.
2. You accidentally put the old valve assembly back in when you thought you were putting the new one in. Don't be offended, this is not criticism. On at least five or six times in past several years I have put the old part back in when I thought I was putting the new one in. Really.
Other than that, I got nothing.
