My maytag atlantis washer doesn't spin out, pump works to pump water, agitator seems to work just no spin. Does this mean bad Trans as I am assuming?

Probably not the transmission. Most of the spin problems on this model are caused by a faulty thrust bearing, this part here.

Tilt the machine back and rotate the large pulley by hand CCW while someone observes the agitator. If the agitator is going back and forth, then the transmission is bad.
