My washer started leaving plastic shavings and it turns out my hub nut had come loose. I tightened it with the spanner wrench as good as I could and the nut came loose again.....any thoughts?

It seems like something is askew with the agitator and maybe other parts and that the plastic shaving are the result as they probably are coming from the agitator. Examine it and see if you can tell what part of the agitator is being cut and why.

thanks sidfink43, I checked under the agitator and found that the hub nut came loose. I tightened it back up (hopefully tight enough) and put the agitator back on......now the tub wont spin :(

Operate it with the front panel off and see if the issue is with the motor, belt or transmission.

I have and I just hear something "working" but nothing moving.....when I took everything a part and back together I don't know if I tightened the screws to the brake assembly too tightly......
