Went to my daughters stackable washer terrible electrical smell. Figured motor was burned out. So I replaced the motor and capacitor. Then I watched the lid switch smoke so I replaced the lid switch. Now water fills and pumps off but new motor still does not run, the top dryer works I checked power at panel and plug all is good any Ideas?

I am guessing that the transmission is bad and that the motor smell is the result of the motor trying to turn it when it won't turn. See if the transmission will move when you manually turn the pulley.

Ok, sounds like the transmission is your problem.
