Trying to figure out how to separate the two part agitator in order to get to the directional cogs. Part Number for the agitator is 22004042.

Please post a model number or use it to go to exploded views of your machine to see how to take off and separate the agitator. This model may not have cogs.

If you want further help please tell us exactly what the problem is.

It's a 16 yr old Maytag Quiet Plus. You can see why I can't find a model number. Baffled on how to separate the two piece agitator. If I look through the hole on top I just see the lower part of the agitator. The agitator isn't connected to the shaft by a bolt but by a small set screw through the lower part of the agitator. The washer and agitator work fine...I just like taking things apart.
