I have got a standard 7 cycle whirlpool washer that you find in most apartments

I dont know the model number because its been removed

Symptoms:
-Will not compete a full Cycle - start the wash but it will cut out around the rise to spin cycles (random)
-Will engage some times but not others - after being unpluged it will start on any part of the cycle with out any issues
-I can hear the timer start (electrical hum) and after about 3 seconds i hear a click deep in the washer

What i have done so far:
-Completely bypassed the lid switch
-installed brand new timer - part number 3953146

Its still doing the same and im running out of ideas
