Washer was off balance during spin cycle. so I opened front panel and notice right rear support rod had come off from the drum assembly. I put it back on and washer ran well for about 3 weeks then the same thing happened. Now rod looks bent so I'm going to replace, do I need to replace both rear or can I replace just one? Also could something else be causing it to come off?

It is very unusual for this to happen. Check the straps at the top but I would say it is likely you have just one bad rod and you can just replace it and life should be fine. If you want to be safe replace both of them, they are not that expensive and your labor is free.
