The washer begins to fill during the final spin and leaves the clothes soaking wet. Thus far I have replaced the timer and the pressure switch, and cleaned/checked all wire connections. I would be grateful for any help in solving this problem.

Washer is supposed to spray during first part of final spin. Amount of spray is determined by timer. May be that your spin is slow due to a clutch problem or something else affecting spin speed.

Thanks for your help. Some of the other sources I've read seem to also point to the clutch, but until your answer, I really couldn't see the connection to the problem. I actually have the part, but until now have been hesitant to take on what looks like a challenging installation without good reason to believe it would make a difference.
