Maytag Centenial agitates while filling, and sometimes doesn't spin on final cycle. Any help???

Since it seems to work, at least part of the time that suggests mechanically it is ok and that the timer is the issue. Try changing it out and if you buy from this site and the new timer does not fix the problem you can return it.

Also, blow out the tube leading to the water level switch and make sure that switch is working correctly and that the wires from it to the timer are not a problem and that connections are good.
