Please tell me how to determine if my suspension rods need replacing. I am getting a "metal to metal" banging noise during agitation. I have run the washer with the front panel off and the tub seems to move excessively. The tub seems to sit leaning towards the back. All four damping straps are good and in place. The unit is level. The rods are in place and do not seem to be broken?? Any suggestions?

Take off the front cover and inspect things. Look at the tub dampening straps, rubber straps connected at the top and the support rods. If you cannot tell anything operate it with the front cover off and see if that will enable you to diagnose it.
