Maytag stops mid cycle but timer at end
Model Number: SAV2555AWW Brand:
5 - 10 years
I have a SAV 2555 Maytag that doesn't complete the cycle every 2nd or 3rd time. The Timer goes to the end but normally there is rinse water left in it. Everything is quiet - no motor running. So, you have to turn the timer to the rinse cycle and get it to empty and spin.
Today, it stopped at the end of the wash cycle so it had suds in it. When my wife went to get it to finish and spin, it did nothing. Couldn't even get it to start over. Then 10 min later we could set it to rinse and it finished it's cycle.
So whereas my first thought is the timer, I'm wondering if the pump motor has some sort of thermal relay that gets overheated. So, when we find it in this condition it has probably had time to cool off and it works again - except yesterday when we tried right after it finished.
