Whirlpool duet washer won't start when I press start button

When I press the start button all it does is it makes a button noise but it doesn't glow like it used to or start. I've tried unplugging and everything but it still won't start. Someone please tell me what's wrong so I can fix it.

Inside the lower service panel or under the top cover are some tech notes that will tell you how to put it into a diagnostic mode and generate some error codes.
If you cannot do this then the main control unit is likely the problem. If you order it from this site and it does not fix the problem you can return it.
