I replaced the motor coupling assembly for my Mom's washer. Thanks to you fine folks I was able to do it. :) When I started it however I first put it on spin and it did but when it stopped the drum banged extremely hard against the front of the washer. I thought it must not be level but the weird thing is that everytime it does stop it returns to perfect center. Any ideas?

Brakes may be grabbing. An easy fix for this is to apply a small dab of sil-glyde grease (use small screwdriver) to the inside vertical surface of the brake drum. Brake drum is just above clutch which is on top of transmission. Brakes will be applied so make sure you place grease where brakes are currently not in contact with drum. Make sure you don't get any grease in the clutch hub.
