I have a maytag atlantis washer and i thought it was the timer switch. I replaced it and it still won't start. i pull out the knob, turn it to the desire load(like to wash the whites) and push in the knob and nothing goes. Can it be the lid switch kit ? Does that make the washer go ?

On your machine the power from the cord goes into the lid switch and out again, so it is very likely the lid switch failure is what is causing your problem. You should have continuity in the switch between terminals L1 which I think is black and SW which I think is red. You should have a wiring diagram inside you console and you can use it to confirm these wires. Here is your part. Part number: AP4008646
Let us know if that fixes the problem.
