I replaced the door lock assembly on my Frigidaire washer tonight. After installing the part, I tried to test the lock and it works but, now I am getting an error code. The machine begins to fil and then states Err. I ran the diagnostic and got at E43 code. Per the manual this code states the control panel is bad. Before I replace the control panel I just want to make sure that I couldn't have hooked something up wrong. When I removed the part, only1 connector was still hooked to the door lock. When following the wiring harness there are 2 other connectors. I have attached all 3 to the new door lock assembly. Trying to follow the wiring diagram is a nightmare (why don't they write them so normal people can decipher them?)

I think there is a reasonable chance the problem is not in your control board but in the door lock assembly that you have replaced. The error will come about if the control board cannot communicate with other components and the wiring runs through the door lock assembly.

Here is a service manual with pictures that should help you determine if you have things hooked up correctly. If you do, then try to check the wiring between the door lock assembly and the control board, and do some of the other tests shown in the manual.

Good luck, hope this hellps.

You are awesome!!!! This is the weirdest thing you will hear--My kids are really hard on the washer. I took the old part-just to see if I would get the error message that the door lock was broken. Well, instead the old one started to work and it doesn't buzz anymore either. I wonder if the wires were loose where they connect to the switch assembly? I don't know...All I do know is that the washer works without a problem.

Well, great, except I think you are the awesome one to try that and get it fixed. Nice going, glad you got it working and thanks for the update.

I believe that I also have a "wiring" problem with the door lock assembly. The door lock light comes on, but immediately goes out (hence, the cycle doesn't start). When I attempted to view the instruction manual/link, it was only available to electrolux repair providers. Do you have a copy that you could post or email me? I think that if Frigidaire is going to make such poor quality products, then they should at least allow us the instructions so that we can attempt to fix the machines ourselves. This machine is barely 4 years old and this is the 3rd thing to go wrong with it. I refuse to pay another repair person. If I can't fix this myself, I'm going to have to cut my losses and just buy a new machine - certainly NOT a Frigidaire! Advance Thanks!
