Whirlpool Duet F6 E1 error and dispenser leak

So, I noticed a little water on the floor a couple of weeks ago and traced it back to the lower left corner of the dispenser drawer. Not sure which cycle this occurred in. Yesterday my son calls to me while I'm down at my shop and says "Dad, the washing machine's messed up". My wife had some clothes in and a strange alarm sounded. The clothes were sopping wet, dispenser had already dispensed but the clothes were not soapy, and the display was flashing F6 E2. The door was locked so I unplugged the unit and finally got the door to unlock. I was able to make the unit alarm and display the error code again, but it would never start. I did some research last night and thought it could be the MCU, pump filter, bearings, or connectors. This morning I found the technicians guide nicely tucked underneath the top panel when I started taking the unit apart. I ran a diagnostics test and the codes F6 E1 came up. I completely disassembled, checked all connectors, cleaned all rubber hoses inside (we have had problems with a moldy smell in the past), checked bearings (looked great), bellows looked fine, and the dispenser looks perfectly fine. I've read that it could be the MCU, but some have replaced the MCU and the problem persists. I don't want to waste money chasing down the problem. Again, when I press start it does nothing but lock the door. I've spent all day with this thing and don't know what to do now. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
