Unhappy Kenmore Washer=Terrible Noise
Brand: Kenmore   Age: 5 - 10 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
My washer began making a terrible noise last night but still spins, drains & agitates(at least long enough for me to get all of the water out). I can best describe the noise as a ratcheting/rattle. Any ideas? I have had a part replaced twice, can't remember what it was called, because my husband has a tendency to overload the washer thus cracking a circular plastic piece. When that has happened before the washer would not do anything. Wasn't sure if that could be the case this time or not. Thanks!

The first thing I would do is remove the washer cabinet and the motor coupling (#13 on the diagram) and check the coupling. Most likely it's cracked. The instructions are attached to the reply.

- The motor coupling Part number: AP3963893

Part number: AP3963893
