I installed a new Timer on the washing machine since it was having problems going through all its cycles without manually setting it, thinking that it was the Timer that was bad. After installing the new Timer, the washing machine filled with water, agitated and drained that water after the wash cycle. However, thereafter it refused to fill up with water again for the rinse cycle. When I manually moved the timer to the rinse cycle nothing happened. I then advanced it to the drain and final spin cyle and it spun. Can you explain what could be the cause of the timer not moving to the rinse cycle...surely it cannot be the timer since it was newly purchased unless the new timer was faulty...

Could be a faulty water level pressure switch or the pressure hose is clogged where it attaches to the tub air chamber. If washer won't fill, unplug hose from water level switch. If it still won't start filling, then the pressure switch is faulty or the new timer is bad.
