Used the agitator repair kit to replace the cam and dogs and the machine works but there seems to be too much play in the top of the agitator. It seems loose.
I've pressed the two parts of the agitator together firmly and it does agitate now.

if the unit works, a minimal gap at the base of the agitator and you sufficiently tightened down the bolt; then, you probably did it right. there is a lot of slop between the upper and lower agitator. that is actually how the cam is able to engage. you my just be more aware of the movement, because you are worried about it.
