My GE washer doesn't always fill with water. Initially it did this on a few settings but now is doing this on most settings, regardless of how high I set the water level or the temp, or the agitation settings. Curiously, it sometimes fills just fine on a setting I tried the day before that didn't work.
Here's what happens: After I press "start," the unit clicks on and begins to fill like normal. Then after a few seconds (and very little water), the unit begins to agitate and the water turns off. The whole cycle goes forward, with only a small bit of water in the tub. Sounds like it agitates fine and progresses through the cycles correctly, but only with a tiny amount of water. I also noticed that when I take the laundry out after final spin, it's very wet--like it either isn't spinning correctly at the end or it's re-filling with some water after the spin cycle. I've done some repairs in the past (novice), so I'd rather try myself before calling an expensive repair shop. Any ideas?
