when we turn on the controls, the only cycle that works is the spin cycle - washer doesn't go thruough any of the cycles except the spin cycle. we already replaced the water inlet valve and that didn't help. does it sound like the washer timer could be the problem? thank you!

Hi Jeff,

The first thing I would check is the fuse (#3 on the cabinet break down diagram).

Here are the break down diagrams for the Maytag laundry center Model LSG7806AAE

Thank You Gene! Would you happen to have any information on the fuse? I could not locate it on the parts list. Thank you.

Jeff

Jeff,

According to the break down diagram it's shown on the left side inside the washer cabinet. You have to remove the front panel to search for the fuse.

Also the lid switch shown as an assembly with the fuse. It is confusing but I can not tell exactly where it is.

Gene,

I replaced the fuse and that didn't work. What would be your next recommendation? Thanks.

I have a problem like this a few months ago the problem was the lid switch assembly, this lid switch assembly has two switches in it, the smaller switch that has a little red piont on it that switch was defective.
these two switches the big one open the power circuit coming into the machine the small switch is wired directly through the water valve and the fuse, sometimes when this switch malfunction it will blow the fuse, the first time i ran into this problem i change the fuse and it just blew again when i start the machine.

Hi Jeff,

Check the 12 wires connector between the control panel and the washer for loose and/or burned wires (especially the Blue and the Orange wires).

Gene.

Have Maytag Stack Washer and Dryer (LSG7806AAE) . The Washer will not start and don't know why. I pull out the "start" button, but nothing! Yes, thee lid IS closed to be sure that "cut-off switch" is in place
