Maytag Neptune MAH8700AWM Control Panel Replacement
Model Number: MAH8700AWM Brand:
5 - 10 years
I've got a Maytag Neptune MAH8700AWM SN 12354141GR. Started getting the E3 error last fall. Motor tested good and would run fine after resetting, but it got worse. I checked all the connections, then replaced the motor (34001437, which superceded 34001405) hoping the Hall Effect was the issue (as the trouble shooting recommended). No help, but I could get things to go by tapping the top of the panel. I ordered a new control panel (34001495 which superceded 34001478), and after some wait finally got it in. This one comes with the new Motion Sensor. After installing, the motor bumps then locks, followed by the E3 error. I can't even get it to run in test mode. I've put the old panel back on and the motor runs fine in spin test. So we're continuing on with the occasional error, which we correct with some more tapping until the drum starts rotating. Once it starts, it's usually good for the portion of the cycle it's on, i.e. Wash, Rinse or Spin.
I'm at a loss, since everything has been replaced and I have no idea where to go from here. Replacing seems the easiest thing for this Samsung made Maytag, but my wife really likes this thing.
Any help would be appreciated.
