My 2002 Kenmore washing machine model 417.40052990
My machine started making loud noise I had a American Home Shield warranty policy they sent a technician to my house. I was told it was the spinner support that needs to be replaced and that they would not cover it. They are accusing me of over loading my machine. Isn't it possible that it is from normal wear and tare after all these years? Please tell me which part is considered the spinner support.

Well, I am not sure what part the tech is talking about, and the tech probably does not know what he or she is talking about.

I don't think you have a washer problem,(well you do, but that is not the issue) I think you have a warranty problem. Unless there is something in your policy that specifically excludes your problem or there are signs of physical abuse to your machine not normal with washing, it sounds like the company is just trying to get out of making an expensive repair which they may or may not even know how to do.

I would continue to insist that the company repair the washer, and if you cannot get satisfaction quickly I would go to the BBB and look into small claims court action plus I would talk to your states Consumer Protection Agencies, Attorney General's office and state representatives and anyone else you can think of. If you think you deserve to have the repair covered then you should pursue it as much as you can.

I have a very similar Kenmore (kenless) with the exact same problem. Obviously a huge design flaw in this machine.
