This model washer has an extra rinse feature. If the switch is on there is an extra rinse cycle added after the normal cycle is finished. It currently fills with water, sits idle for awhile, spins and drains. Is this the way it is supposed to work or is there supposed to be some agitation during the period where it is currently sitting idle? I checked the user manual and it does not say anything about this. I don't have access to a service manual. Thanks.

Most models that I know of do agitate in extra rinse cycle. Check your timer chart which should be on the wiring diagram. Check inside the control panel for diagram. If you don't know how to read the timer chart, post photo of it here.
