Washer leaving close somewhat wet. Found belt to be loose. Installed new belt and found the motor pivot slide not working properly. Is the motor pivot spring the part I now need or some other part?

If the spring is not physically broken then it's probably good. The belt tension depends on the motor speed.

Have you checked the drain pump and its hoses?

Check if there is as any small gourmet suck between the inner and outer tubs.
