Motor is suspect and difficult to remove

The washer doesn't spin or agitate. The switch moves through the full cycles and water flows in and is pumped out. I checked out the motor and find it is suspect. I removed the motor connector and checked resistances. Results were as follows: pin 1 to 2 = 136 Ohms; pin 3 to 4 = 1.6 Ohms; pin 4 to 9 = 0.7 Ohms; pin 5 to 6 = Open ckt; p[n 7 to 8 = 0.7 Ohms. It appears that the armature circuit is open. I suspect that it might be a defective or worn brush. I removed the four bolts that support the motor, disconnected a ground lead and removed the belt but the motor won't budge. Did I overlook something? Am I correct about the armature and are the other readings OK? Also, are the brushes removable without removing the motor? If not, what do you recommend for me to free the motor?
