My Door Lock Light comes on, but nothing else results from any position of the timer when I pull the knob to on position. I found my wax motor in the door lock mechanism had expanded and therefore seemed to have shorted and burned itself up. I also found black marks on a resistor and a transistor on the motor control board and I've even replaced the timer. These three elements have been replaced. Still no change in behavior.

You did the right thing on replacing the parts you did usually it's the timer or motor control but since you replaced all the parts you did it's either the wire harness or the motor then if all the parts you got were from a reputable supplier and tested good.

upon second inspection, I had improperly installed a wiring harness that came with the door lock factory replacement part. Once I spotted that, my troubles were over.
As there are two ways to install the harness and lock due to early and late series numbers of that same model I had misled myself to believe that not all wires were involved. I was wrong.

that make sense anytime you work on something make video with your cameraphone or take notes and label things. That may have been the problem with you shorting things out?

The electronics failed due to age and wear, I didn't short anything out.
