Looking for some trouble shooting advice or confirmation. Yesterday my washing machine would stall at drain & rinse stage. I emptied the towels and as much water as I could from the machine and was able to get it to spin, but it will not drain the remaining water. It is giving off the smell of burning rubber (bad belt?). Could use help in trying to troubleshoot & repair myself.

Remove the front panel by inserting a putty knife into the top groove in line with the lid opening on each side to release the clips. Tilt outward and lift from cabinet. Pump is at lower right. Pump may be bad or jammed with something. Remove the hoses and check it out. There will be some water in there. You can check the voltage at the pump terminals when it should be draining to make sure your getting correct voltage from timer. Should be 120vac. Replace pump if necessary.
