Model Number: 110-24852300 Brand: Kenmore Age: 1 - 5 years
I have an kenmore washer top loader its about 4 years old -- I started hearing a noice when its at the final spin or if i try to lift the lid. the sound is at the final spin not while it is spinning but when its time to stop at the end of the cycle it makes a loud noise like the machine is about to break apart. I took the machine apart and found the at the base of the machine there was a loose belt like part which i found out laster was part # 63134 a deadening ring-- i als purchase a book and i can see the part at the botton between the center base of the machine but it does not say where it should go or if it is attach to any part the bbok does not mention any thing about the part -- i need to know where deos the part go -- i had to pull it off because it was loose and kind of torn apart not completely but i think that was the source of the noise -- i need help for instructions on the part -- it is a frigeal part can be torn which the slightest pull. I have contacted sears and has even ordered a techniction and no one showed up -- i have

Hi Joan
I know the part you are talking about, but I don't think I have ever replaced it. From the sound of your problem I think you should first replace the springs, as they are more likely the problem and see if that fixes it. Also check the conditions of the pads and replace them if needed. I assume your machine also has a strong jerk when it stops which is also indicative of springs problem. These are inexpensive repairs which have a good chance of solving your sudden noise problem. Good luck.

Hello, I think I am having the same problem, the sudden stopping is sporadic. I found this thread searching for deadening ring.
In this case, the spring that you are talking about is it this? Part Details - WHIRLPOOL Brake spring, part number: AP3018346 I haven't investigated how hard this would be to replace just doing some initial research. Thanks! |
