Maytag washer PAV1000AWW was leaking from under the tub as soon as it filled to the level of the bearingg and seal. I ordered bearing and seal kit AP4025154 from the parts pages. The new spin hub is different from the old one. Old one is like the pictures in the transmission parts diagram. The new one has an extended hub on the top of the spin hub and cannot fit the center post between the spin hub and the basket. Am I supposed to just leave out the center post? It doesn't appear to do anything except seal the top of the spin hub - maybe the new "Triple lip seal accomplishes that?

You are not alone in experiencing the confusion with this repair. Maytag re-engineered the part, and adapted it for a high torque transmission, and we really do not know how it affects your model since your model number is not included on the tech bulletin Maytag issued, but the part is appropriate for your machine.
