My Neptune front loader will start filling when Start button is pushed. "ON" light comes on, then machine shuts off after about 5 seconds. I found if the timer is turned to a SPIN setting and button is held, the pump will run and drain the tub, but thats all. I have checked the Main board, do not see any burned spots. Motor control board appears ok also. Any help would be appreciated...Ed

OK...just removed motor control board for closer inspection and found the Glass fuse is blown...Now what??

UPDATE:

Repair manual sez, if fuse is blown, replace motor and board. Called Maytag this AM at 888.462.9824, and after a little wrangling, they have agreed to supply me with a replacement Motor and Control update kit at no charge under the 10 year motor warranty.

Originally, they only offered up the motor, with me paying for the board. Since the warrantied motor is the root cause and took out the board, I asked for a supervisor. Had the motor not failed, I wouldn't be needing a board.. Waited a little, still same answer. Asked for supervisor's supervisor, agent came back on line after a couple of minutes, agreeing to supply the Motor and Control Board update kit at no charge.

Final update:

The motor upgrade kit arrived, no charge.
Purchased new wax motor to protect main board
Purchased new front tub seal

Installed everything this AM, about 2.5 hours work. She works Great!!!

I appreciate your posts. This has helped me understand what has just happened to my Maytag washer (fits your problem to a t). This machine came with our house so now I need find out the if it's under warranty.
