Hello, I have an older (maybe 8 years old) Whirlpool top loading washer. I noticed a few weeks ago that it leaks just a little when it drains, but I am a single mom on a budget, and couldn't fix it right away. Now it won't drain at all. I have a full load of clothes in now and it just makes a slight buzzing sound when it should be buzzing. My hunch is that it is the pump, but I really have no expertise to base that on. Does this sound like a pump, and if so, is it hard to fix? If the part is costly, I will most likely just spring for a new washer. I spent almost $300 fixing it last year, so I don't want to put more than $50 in it now. I would consider myself capable of easy to moderate repairs. Any advise? Thanks in advance!
