Model Number: CW22b8v Brand: Crosley Age: 5 - 10 years
I have a crosley washing, Will not fill with water on Agitator cycle, Not sure if Agitator works as I have seen where it won't work unless water is in the tub, however, I have replaced the water inlet valve, Water will come out during the spin cycle, but no other time, It won't fill up on rinse either, My washer is a crosley Model # CW22b8v, Any help will be appreciated. Thank You

Check out the tube going from the water level pressure switch to the tub and make sure it is not off, or does not have a hole in it. If it is ok, you probably need to replace the water level pressure switch.
Here it is. Part number: AP4025680 The water sprays in on the spin cycle because that is not controlled by the water level pressure switch.

Also ran a multimeter check on the washer, no power is getting to the agitate cycle however there is a black spot on the timer are small area on the white interior when you cycle through, but there is power to the spin cycle....Is there still the possibility of that happening with no power during agitation, and power during the spin cycle...Thx again
P.S. It washed fine, then when the wife put in a new load wouldn't let the water in, So that was what made me believe it was the water iv in the first place....I am in process of thinking in terms of it being the timer, but hoping not as That is pricier than the washer would be worth at it's age. Does anyone know if this washer needs to be filled with water to agitate, I saw some threads where advice was given, that it won't agitate without water in the tub...Thx Last edited by staggs1979 : 10-11-2009 at 12:04 PM. |

Basically when the machine is filled with water, it triggers the water pressure switch which tells the timer to stop the water valves and start agitating.
You can test out the agitation by taking off the water level tube from the tub and blowing into it while the machine is on agitate. If it agitates then the next thing to check is if power is getting to the water inlet valves at the start of the cycle when it supposed to be filling.
