My son left his chain in his pocket and washed his pants.
I saw the chain in one of the draining holes & attempted to get it out but couldn't. It has since drained away. however since then, the washer has not been draining properly. If you put it through a second spin cycle it does.

How do I fix said problem without involving a service repair and paying an extravagant amount of $ for them to drive out to tell me what the problem is.

The chain has probably gotten into the pump so you will need to remove the cabinet and drain hoses from the pump. Here is a video on how to do this.

Not necessarily, you need to disconnect the drain hoses and look for an obstruction. The chain may be stuck in the pump or may have damaged the impeller.
