I just received my replacement auger post (Part # 21001878) for my maytag model PAV2300AWW. The part came in three pieces, the post, an O-ring, and the main auger. I bolted the post to the washer transmission, placed the O-ring down the post, then pushed the auger on to the post. But I cannot get the auger to stay attached during the wash cycle. It comes lose when the auger is turning.

What installation steps am I missing to keep these three pieces together?

You should have a retaining screw and a washer to keep the top half on. If not, contact APP or the folks that sold you the part and see if they can send the parts to you.
