I followed the directions for clutch replacement on my Whirlpool Ultimate Care II Heavy Duty Super Capacity, and after replacing the clutch assembly, I cannot get the motor to seat onto the three posts where it bolts down.

I double checked that the washer on top of the clutch was seated properly with the tabs where they are supposed to be. Nothing is put on backward. The clutch spring and the clutch cam are not interfering with each other. Is there something I'm missing?

There is about 1/4 inch space between the 3 posts and the bosses on the motor where the bolts go.

With gearcase completely removed, grab the brake cam driver and rotate it CCW (releases brakes) while pushing to make sure the basket drive is fully up into the support tube. It is common for the basket drive to be pulled out a little bit when you remove the gearcase.
