The lid lock on my Maytag Bravos top load washing machine kicks in and stops the cycle for 5 mins. Originally it started doing this during the spin cycle as it began to slow. Now, it also happens during the sensing. The lid lock stops the sensing 3x (ea. for 5 mins) and then it begins to fill the tub HALF FULL...this is NOT on the "bulky" cycle. It never kicks in during the wash cycle...the impeller seems to be ok. Usually it does get to a high rate of spin but only for a short time. One person told me she had trouble w/her lid lock and the service man said the basket was not screwed in properly (a common problem w/he top loaders)...took him 5 mins to fix. Any suggestions for diagnosing the problem? This model does not have an digital display.
