Hi, My GE washer has a loud (and getting louder) knocking noise when in the spin cycle. Problem has been getting worse. Darn near sounds like a machine gun in the laundry room.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Dan K.

You know I have seen a few lately that the balance counter weight came loose and makes a terrible noise during spin. Look to see directly behind the motor and you should see the balance weight, see if this weight is loose. GE HydroWave Noisy Washer Repair Guide

Glad I found this thread. I found the same issue. Loose upper weight. All three screws and a lot of concrete dust. All three screws were probably 1/8 to 3/16" loose. Runs silent when empty. Tub feels secure. Hope this fixes it....
Model is a GE WCVH6800J0WW
