Hi,
My GE washer has a loud (and getting louder) knocking noise when in the spin cycle. Problem has been getting worse. Darn near sounds like a machine gun in the laundry room.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Dan K.

You know I have seen a few lately that the balance counter weight came loose and makes a terrible noise during spin. Look to see directly behind the motor and you should see the balance weight, see if this weight is loose.

Glad I found this thread. I found the same issue. Loose upper weight. All three screws and a lot of concrete dust. All three screws were probably 1/8 to 3/16" loose. Runs silent when empty. Tub feels secure. Hope this fixes it....

Model is a GE WCVH6800J0WW
