The service manual states I should have a reading of 118 ohms resistance between the orange leads at panel. Would it be possible to bypass the sensor and install a 118 ohm resistor between orange leads? The board needs to see that amount of resistance to "tell" it everything is okay. Looking for thoughts...

ps - tired of replacing dampers, machine barely is out of balance but 50% of the time can't get up to high spin speed. Also have checked weights, springs, bearing, belt, etc....

I really cannot tell you if you can bypass the sensor with a resistor, but I can tell you it is a really, really, really bad idea to re-engineer something that GE electrical engineers spend a large amount of time designing.

This is not to say that GE engineers do good design work, actually they do terrible work but it does work the way it is supposed to work. Not reliably as you have found out.

This is a terrible model, and my advice is to cut your losses and replace it.

Sorry for the bad news, it's not your fault, it's GE's.
