Maytag spins too slow
Model Number: Hav2460aww Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
Maytag washer has just started spinning too slowly. Always seems out of balance too, even on a small light load.
Re-running the spin does not assist in getting extra water out. Where should I start in addressing issue? Ads By Google Related Models

Remove front panel and check that all the suspension springs are in place. The motor should freely pivot back and forth. The plate and pivot points can get dirty and gummed up preventing proper pivoting of the motor which causes improper belt tension. Look for white powder around bottom center. Snubber ring may be wearing and need replacement. A worn thrust bearing and/or cams on the pulley assembly can cause improper brake release reducing spin speed.
