Hello again,

My front load washer let out a very loud clatter during the spin cycle -- sounded like a billiards ball in there. Now, up until the rapid spin cycle, the washer works okay but sounds a bit clunky, like there's a loose pulley, but the pulley's not loose, and when it comes time to spin, it simply agitates like it's trying to balance things and then shuts off.

Thanks for your help.

Typically with these front load Frigidaire models the rear bearing goes out. In your case it may be because the support structure is also broken. Either way you are probably looking at a replacement as the cost of a repair is just too high to justify the expenditure.

Thanks for your help sidfink43 - you are correct. I have taken things apart and found a broken spider on the back of the drum --$300+tax. I have found several same-model used washers nearby for less.

Well sorry it turned out that way but glad you are not sinking a lot of money into a repair.

Good luck with your used machine!
