If man put it together, then man ought to be able to take it apart and put it back together again. That's my motto.
First off, you need to indicate the make and model of your unit. This is usually indicated by a sticker or metal plate on, around or inside the door or dryer opening. It will also have the serial number on it. Disassembly is determined by how and who assembled it. Got any model numbers? This is a cool site, as the model number I input for my question resulted in a link on my post to my model number's schematic drawings. EDIT Oh.. my bad, you did indicate a model number. Lemme check it out. Last edited by TommyK : 10-03-2009 at 09:46 AM. |

You are going to have to open the cabinet up.
There's probably two or more screws in an inconspicuous place near the bottom of the front panel. Heaven forbid we would have to look at a screw head! Remove these then the panel should either lift up or out. Use the cabinet drawings to see how this is attached to the front of the cabinet. Once this is done, search for the screws that hold the side sheets on. Remove these. You might just be able to slide the drum out of the bearing at the back of the drum. You may need to remove a couple screws on the back of the drum, around the center spindle. to effect this extrication. The belt engages the sheave or pully at the motor, then surrounds the drum. THe drum is it's own sheave. THere is also a tensioner pully on a long torsion bar that takes up the slack. The trick is to get the belt threaded around the sheave, the drum and pulley at the same time. |
