You don't remove the back of the washer. First, pull the switch knob off. Push a putty knife under the front corner of the control panel while pushing back on the panel. Do this on each side to release the clips. Rotate the panel up to get to the controls. Unplug the connector from the switch. Lift the locking tab next to the switch and rotate the switch about 30° clockwise and remove it.
