Model Number: ensignia mav9657ewq Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
my washing machine overflowed this morning while filling for the wash cycle. i replaced the fill valve a couple weeks ago and found a lot of sediment. is there a water level sensor on these machines? Or is it something else? thanks in advance. Joe

Yes, they have a pressure switch. First, I would verify that it is not the water valve getting stuck by simply unplugging the machine when the water level gets to where its supposed to be. If the water shuts off, the valve is ok. Check the air reservoir on the side of the outer tub and the hose that runs from it to the switch behind the control panel. Clean out any gunk buildup and check the hose for cracks/splits/kinks.
