![]() Model Number: TAWX400RQ2 Brand: Estate Age: 5 - 10 years
![]() Bought new with matching dryer in July 2006. No parts replaced since new. Clothes are still full of water at end of 14/12/6 minute wash cycles. There is no water in bottom of drum at end of cycle, that I can see. I have wrung the clothes out into the washer and transferred them to dryer. I then put the empty washer, on an 'extra' spin cycle and do notice water being pumped out into laundry sink during this 'extra' spin cycle. I am a little mechanically inclined, so I feel I can take any responses and make them happen. I thank any and all for responses, advice and what have you! It is appreciated!! Related Models |

![]() If you are sure that washer does go into the spin after the draining then most likely it's a bad clutch. Use the video clip for the instructions.

Open and close the lid within 10sec. while the washer is draining in the spin cycle. If it's start spinning - replace the timer, if not - go with the clutch. The timer Part number: 8546681 Post the results. Simon.

![]() Do not replace the timer, if the motor runs in spin it's not the timer.
Remove the cabinet, bypass the lid switch, turn the spin on and observe the clutch. If the clutch cup turns but the outer cup don't - the clutch is bad. If nothing turns and the motor runs - bad transmission. You also may check the motor coupling Part number: 285753A Good luck. Simon.

![]() Ok. Replaced the clutch assembly only....not the timer. Put back together. Hooked up all hoses. Filled half tub with water, set to rinse and water started pumping out. Then it kicked into the spin cycle. Voila! Started spinning and draining water without problems.
However, after about three minutes I heard a grinding noise for only a second until I pushed in the knob to stop it. Now....ever since then, I have no spin and no draining. When it reaches end of fill cycle, all I hear is the timer noise behind the timer knob. No electrical smell, also. What could be the problem?? |
