Default Leak from Frigidaire front load washer tub
Model Number: LTF2940FE0   Brand: Frigidaire   Age: 5 - 10 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com

I have a Frigidaire front load washer modelnumber LTF2940FE0. There is water running out of what appears to be a drain holeat the front of the tub all the way down at the bottom. I removed the front clamp from the doorgasket so I could inspect beneath the gasket but it is completely dry. The water starts to leak from the drain holewhen the water level in the drum reaches about 2 inches. Where is that water coming from?

Hello,

Open the door and carefully inspect the bellows for any cracks.

Remove the bottom access panel and observe everything while the washer is running a load.

Post the results.

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Parts for Frigidaire LTF2940FE0 Washer - AppliancePartsPros.com

Gene.

Thank you for the quick reply Gene. With the access panel removed and the washer running through a cycle, the water is running out the drain hole I described in my post, at the extreme front and the extreme bottom of the tub. I inspected the bellows for cracks or tears, and I removed the front bellows clamp and peeled the bellows away from the front panel.. dry as a bone underneath. Unfortunately there isn't enough detail in the parts diagram to see the drain hole in the tub that I am talking about.

Did you mean the hole in the outer tub where the drain hose (#41 at the diagram) is connected to?

No, the hole for the drain hose is off to the right and set back a few inches. This is bottom dead center, at the extreme front of the tub. And there is what appears to be a channel molded into the bottom of the tub, running along its centerline from rear to front and terminating at this hole.

Can you post a picture of it? It might help.

Here are three shots, Gene. In No 1, I am pointing at the hole that the water is coming out of. The other two shots show the hole at different angles and also the channel leading up to the hole.

Looks like the front half of the outer tub is leaking. The correction is to replace the front shell.

- The front shell Part number: 134362000
