Model Number: crtr9300aso Brand: Frigidaire Age: More than 10 years
I have a front load Frigidaire washer. The other day during a final spin cycle, one of the vibration/shock absorbers broke. I replaced both shocks. Now, during the final spin cycle, there is a clunking noise. At first I thought maybe the machine was no longer level, so I checked the level. It's more like something inside the drum is bad, as the machine doesn't vibrate and shake, it just makes the clunking noise. Given the age and lots of post online about the spider bracket going bad, I wonder if that is the problem. I don't want to take the whole drum apart, unless that is the next most likely step.
Thanks, Russ Ads By Google Related Models |

Hi Russ,
Open the door and manually check how the drum is moving up & down and forth & back. Post the results. Here are the breakdown diagrams and Parts for Frigidaire CRTR9300AS0 Washer - AppliancePartsPros.com Gene.

Not sure exactly what you mean by check how the drum is moving. The drum moves forward and backward and up and down without any noise or anything like that. I can see that the springs at the top have not broken and the new shocks are still intact.
I took the front lower panel off. If I hold onto the outer drum and then move the inner tub left to right, there is a squeak coming from the back that sounds very similar to the noise it is now making in the final spin cycle. |

Very likely the inner tub is still under the warranty. Gene.

Ok, sounds like it is worth taking it apart as those are the 2 most likely culprits.
Unfortunately, we bought the washer in 2002, so probably out of warranty by now. Thanks for the help Gene. I will post the results so this thread has closure. |

I'm afraid you did not click on the link I posted for you. Why?
Gene.
