It's a front load washer. Works perfectly fine up to the final spin. It sounds like the motor is cutting in but it won't spin out the clothes. When the washer stops the clothes are soaking wet.

Kenmore, front load, 3.5 Super Capacity. Model number 970-C47072-10. The Sears repair guy called and said he would save us $60 for a visit by telling us that it is not an uncommon problem with this model and that its the sensor. Told us we are better off buying a new washer. Can't believe it. the washer is only 3 years old. It goes through the full wash but when it comes time to spin out in the end, it drains and sounds like it cuts in but the clothes just sit there. It won't spin. Any information you could give me would be a great help......

It looks to me like this is Canadian model. Is it? If that's correct then we don't have access to any technical information for non American models.

Based on my experience I can suspect the door switch/lock assembly. You can check it for continuity. The normal reading suppose to be about 1500 Ohms.
