I am having an intermittent problem with my Kitchen Aid clothes washer, sometimes it overflows because it gets stuck on the rinse fill cycle, other times it gets stuck on the spin cycle and so on. I think the timer contacts are damaged and would like to remove the timer and inspect and possibly replace it but I don't see how to remove it. Can anyone tell how to remove the timer from the console. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated?

Push in on the timer knob while unscrewing it. Pull off the dial to reveal screws underneath that hold the timer in place. Open control panel to get to back of timer to unplug and pull out.
